My name is Zoe.

Zoe - the woman who can do everything - is the meaning of this three-letter word in the language of the Vai, a Liberian tribe I was born into. I often turn to the meaning my name has in Greek - Life. Somehow, living feels so much less of a challenge this way.

My first language is a song. My second is writing. As a songwriter those two just blend together and I couldn’t tell you where one or the other begins. Both feel the same to me, and while a melody forms inside of my soul, the words that want to keep her company reveal themselves like they know where they want to go, and all I do is give them a home.

What can you expect of me here?

Well, please don’t expect anything. I’m rebellious against expectations in general and have a hard time already dealing with what I am expecting from myself.

My thoughts and feelings in words. Probably irregularly shared, because I spend a lot of time at the piano.

Lousy morning walk poetry for sure. Notes I write at night, when everything feels a little too intense to not indulge in drama.

A collection of moments, embracing the imperfections, doubts and victories of an artists life, always on the search for my own truth and trying to find my own way.
